▸ The new Building was inaugurated

▸ India Today magazine rated SJCC as
    one among the top 10 Commerce
    Colleges in the country.

▸ A new basketball and table tennis
    room was opened, along with an
    Audio Visual Room and a Computer
    Lab

▸ 22 January, 2000, SJCC got the five
    star accreditation by the National
    Assessment and Accreditation
    Council, NAAC

▸ Hindi Plays were staged for the first
    time at Enact

2000-2001

▸ Fr. Aveline D'Souza took over as
    principal.

▸ The Business Club launched its
    exclusive website in this academic
    year:

▸ India Today proclaimed SJCC as the
    Number One College for commerce
    studies in Karnataka.

▸ SPIEL-2K, was held on the very
    grounds of SJCC after 5 years

▸ Dhwani, the Inter-Collegiate Cultural
    fest was held for the first time.

▸ AICUF got affiliated to a National
    body and conducted its first ever
    inter-class fest "Theophilus".

▸ SJCC, in collaboration with NIIT
    organized an inter-collegiate Cyber
    Fest called Cybernetics 2000

2001-2002

▸ PUC sections were moved out of
    SJCC with the formation of SJPUC.

▸ The college celebrated 30 years
    since the bifurcation from
    St. Joseph's College

▸ Commencement of a twinning
    arrangement with Jesuit University in
    United States; followed by a website
    launch at the end of this program to
    facilitate the world wide network.

▸ Parent Teacher Association
    was formed with the parents who
    had volunteered to be a part of the
    Executive Committee

▸ SJCC gets wired,
    www.sjccbangalore.org was
    launched

▸ River of Dreams: The college choir
    presented, a full concert at a public
    auditorium

2002- 2003

▸ Fr. Daniel Fernandes took over as
    principal

▸ M.Com started with 30 students

▸ The Institute of Chartered
    Accountants of India recognized the
    college as the Centre for Professional
    Education Part-I (PE-I).

▸ Honors Courses: Tally, Inter Personal
    Relationship, Security Analysis and
    Portfolio Management, Neuro
    Linguistic Programming, International
    Trade and Finance were offered in
    an attempt to make the college
    multi-disciplinary

▸ The students council pattern
    changed to include Academic,
    Sports and Culture representatives

▸ The Women's Cell conducted the STRI
    fest

▸ A new multi-purpose hall for indoor
    activities with table tennis, chess and
    carrom facilities was opened.

▸ The SPIEL logo was designed as part
    of an inter-class competition. The
    same logo is being used even today.

2004-2005

▸ BBM was introduced.

▸ Commencement of new facilities, an
    Audio Visual Room, and full-fledged
    computer lab with 90 computers
    with broadband Internet connection.

2005-2006

▸ SJCC granted Autonomous status by
    NAAC with 'A' grade.

2006-2007

▸ Clairvoyance '09 was the first ever
    PG fest hosted in Oct 2009.

▸ First ever collaboration was done in
    this year, with Swansea University
    (UK), IESEG France.

2009-2010

▸ Recognition of the college as 'Centre
    for Potential Excellence' in March
    2010.

2010-2011

▸ Grant of extension of Autonomy from
    NAAC until 2015-16.

▸ Recognition of the college as a
    Research Centre by the Bangalore
    University.

▸ Visit of the Superior General of the
    Society of Jesus Rev. Fr. Adolfo
    Nicolas, SJ on 27th February, 2011.

▸ English Theatre Association
    introduced in SJCC for the purpose of
    performing on Rabindranath Tagore
    Day.

2011-2012

▸ FIESTA, a special social initiative
    taken up by the Student Council in
    collaboration with CSA and AICUF to
    promote sports and cultural for
    under-privilege students.

2012-2013

▸ 40th anniversary of SJCC.

▸ The Platinum Jubilee of Jesuit
    presence in SJC institutions.

▸ B.Com - Travel and Tourism was
    started

▸ The Josephite Business Club was set
    up to improve soft skills and enable
    Josephites to become better
    employees.
